Nicki Minaj's Brother Says He Never Touched 12-Year-Old Victim Despite DNA Evidence

Jelani Maraj maintains his innocence, and his legal team wishes to expose the sexual history of the 12-year-old girl he's accused of raping. Last year, it was reported that his DNA matched with semen found on the girl's pants. The legal team of Jelani Maraj, the 37-year-old brother of Nicki Minaj who's currently facing charges for allegedly raping and sodomizing a 12-year-old girl on multiple occasions, has filed a motion to ask the judge to give them access to evidence that might shed light upon the minor complainant's sexual history. “Our firm has a good faith basis to believe that the complainant in this case has had intimate physical contact with a man who is not the defendant in this case and who is older than 17 years of age and who may have caused there to be physical evidence of repeated vaginal and anal penetration of the complainant,” Maraj’s lawyers, Benjamin Brafman and Andrea Zellan wrote, according to documents obtained by Bossip. In addition to seeming evidence of vaginal and anal penetration, the court revealed there to be a match between Maraj's DNA and semen found on the victim's pants during a hearing in July. After revealing the evidence, the court put forth a plea deal, offering Maraj a sentence of 15 years to life in prison, which he declined. –– ADVERTISEMENT –– Maraj faces charges of first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual encounter against a child. His lawyers have also asked the judge to toss out the top charge (first-degree rape), which carries with it a possible life sentence. They feel there is unconstitutional overlap between the two charges, reports Bossip. Additionally, the lawyers have filed a motion to suppress evidence used against Maraj that was allegedly obtained with a "bad" warrant, enacted by reasonable cause instead of probable cause. Nicki reportedly posted $100,000 in bail, putting up two of her properties, for her brother when he was arrested on a first-degree rape charge in December 2015. The accuser told police that Maraj had repeatedly raped and sodomized her in the period between April 1 and November 30, 2015. The most recent alleged assault took place one day before Maraj's arrest, according to the victim. Maraj plead not guilty to the charges against him when he was indicted in April 2016. “We believe the truth will come out," David Schwartz, Maraj’s lawyer, told Bossip yesterdaqy. “The complaining witness in the case and others have a real motive in this case to lie, this never occurred and Jelani is completely innocent.” The case is headed to trial later this month. Adrien Broner Reportedly Choked Out A Waitress At A Las Vegas Nightclub

More trouble for Adrien Broner. It has been quite a roller coaster of a week for Adrien Broner. Just a few days ago, he posted a series of disturbing images and captions on his instagram page hinting that he was going to commit suicide. Days later, he was posting videos from the passenger seat of Floyd Mayweather's Bugatti as the two cruised the Las Vegas strip. Today, TMZ is reporting that Broner was cited for misdemeanor battery for allegedly choking out a waitress at Drai's, a Las Vegas nightclub. According to the report, cops were called to the club at around 3:30am on Sunday when the waitress claimed that Broner put his hand around her neck and said, "Bitch, I will knock you out." Broner vehemently denied any wrongdoing although there was a witness who confirmed the woman's side of the story. The incident was also allegedly captured on video.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Jeremih had to postpone his US tour. Donald Glover Might Play Young Lando Calrissian In Upcoming Star Wars Movie

The studio wants to cast Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo movie. After watching Marvel make a fortune by giving each of its extensive cast of superheroes their own movie, Lucasfilms is now doing the same with Star Wars. In addition to Episodes 7-9, they are producing a Han Solo spinoff currently scheduled for a May 2018 release. They are in the process of casting the film, and according to BirthMoviesDeath, their first choice for young Lando Calrissian is none other than Donald Glover. As you might recall, Billy Dee Williams aka Gale Sayers portrayed Calrissian in the first Star Wars trilogy. Calrissian was a former pilot and administrator of Cloud City who ultimately assisted the Rebel Alliance in their quest to overthrow Imperial Forces. Glover as Calrissian is far from a done deal, but intriguing to consider. His FX show "Atlanta" premieres on September 6th.

Young Buck Reportedly Sentenced To 7 Months In Prison

Young Buck is said to have violated the conditions of his August release. After being released from jail on August 1st, Young Buck has been sentenced to 7 months in prison after violating the conditions of his release, according to Nashville Scene. The rapper was arrested in July after allegedly kicking down his then-girlfriend's door and threatening to burn her house down, itself a violation of previous conditions from 2013 charges. After serving jail time for that incident, he was released at the beginning of August on the condition that he would not have any contact -- direct or indirect -- with the woman he threatened, but after a reported 100 or more attempts to get in touch with her, he has been hit with a 7-month prison sentence. An excerpt from the U.S. Attorney's office in reference to Buck's sentencing can be found below. On July 20, 2016, another of Brown’s ex-girlfriends obtained an Ex Parte Order of Protection in state court and arrest warrants were issued against Brown based on an incident in which Brown wanted to get certain property out of that woman’s house and was told that the property was not there. He then kicked in the door of the residence and threatened that woman. Brown was arrested for violating his supervision, and was detained pending a detention hearing. After that hearing, the federal magistrate determined Brown could be released pending the final hearing on this incident and the previous March 2016 incident, but ordered Brown not to have any direct or indirect contact with this victim. Brown was released under those conditions on August 1, 2016. After being released on those conditions, Brown violated the conditions of his release by contacting and attempting to contact that woman over 100 times in violation of the Magistrate’s release order.
