Usher & Vic Mensa Sign With Scooter Braun For Management
Vic Mensa & Usher are joining Scooter Braun's management team.
Scooter Braun’s management roster just got a whole lot stronger this week. According to Billboard, Save Money rapper Vic Mensa & ATL legend Usher have both signed new management deals with SB Projects, bka Brauns's company.
Vic & Usher will join a roster already consisting of some the biggest names in the music business, most notably Justin Bieber & Kanye West, as well as Tori Kelly, Carly Rae Jepsen, Martin Garrix, and the Black Eyed Peas, among others. Braun had managed Ariana Grande up until February of 2016 when the two went their separate ways, but he was still credited for her latest album release Dangerous Woman, which is currently slaying the airwaves & pop charts.
“I’ve always been in the Scooter family,” when asked to confirm his signing after appearing on a panel with Ryan Seacrest at Cannes this week. “We actually have worked together on artists, and worked together in business. So it’s just a continuum.”
Vic Mensa, who is signed to Roc Nation, will be co-managed by Braun and Cody Kazarian. His long awaited debut album, Traffic, is on the way. Meanwhile, Usher's eighth studio album, Flawed, is expected to arrive later this year.
Barack Obama Is Reportedly Interested In Owning An NBA Team After His Presidency
Obama needs to bring the Supersonics back to Seattle.
Barack Obama's run as President of the United States is coming to a close and his next move might be as the owner of an NBA franchise.
According to White House press secretary Josh Earnest, Obama is intrigued by the possibility of owning a team and has discussed the idea of joining an NBA franchise's ownership group, under the right circumstances.
Last November, POTUS spoke with Bill Simmons in an article for GQ where he addressed this very situation.
When asked if he would ever want to own a team, he said "absolutely" and added, "I have fantasized about being able to put together a team and how much fun that would be. I think it’d be terrific."
We all know President Obama is a diehard Bulls fan but if he really wants to serve the people of the United States he'll team up with an ownership group and bring the Supersonics back to Seattle.

Gucci Mane Addresses Conspiracy Theory That He's A Government Clone
Gucci Mane has responded to the conspiracy theory that he's a government clone.
It’s safe to say that Gucci Mane has seen a transformation for the better while being incarcerated over the past couple years. He’s lost his belly, gained a 6-pack of abs, and changed his vocabulary entirely all while being locked up. But that’s not all that’s different with ATL legend, Gucci’s infamous “ice cream cone” tattoo on his face appears to be gone as well, or really well hidden anyways, and it’s got people making some wild accusations because of it. There’s an actual conspiracy going around on the internet that the government has cloned Gucci and who we are seeing now isn’t the real Guwop.

Big Sean Donates $25,000 To Wayne State University Homelessness Program
Big Sean donates $25,000 toward an initiative to end homelessness at Wayne State University.
As he's settled into superstardom, Big Sean has made a constant effort to give back to his hometown of Detroit. Last year, he founded his Detroit-based nonprofit, the Sean Anderson Foundation, designed to help the disadvantaged youth of his city with initiatives in the realms of education, healthcare, and the arts. Through his foundation, he was recently able to donate a sum of $25,000 to Wayne State University, located in the Midtown district, for its Helping Individuals Go Higher (HIGH) program, which is devoted to eliminating college student homelessness.
According to his foundation's website, Sean's donation will "provide short-term support to Wayne State students experiencing homelessness or precarious housing situations." "With this gift, we will be able to help Wayne State students who are experiencing homelessness work toward a better future," said HIGH founder Jacqueline Wilson.
Sean's contribution to Wayne State is not the only recent charitable work that has earned him attention. He donated $82,000 during the height of the crisis in Flint in order to help children who had been poisoned by the city's water supply, and last year, he teamed with adidas Originals to build a recording studio at Cass Technical High School, his alma mater.
Rihanna Takes Jab At Steph Curry Following Game 7
Rihanna throws salt in the Warriors' wounds.
Stephen Curry and the Warriors were hearing it from everyone last night after failing to close out the series on their home court, and allowing the Cavs to recover from a 3-1 series deficit. Even Rihanna was trolling the league MVP, taking numerous jabs at Curry via instagram while lauding LeBron's greatness.
Steph was not himself throughout the entire series and he came up small in the crucial Game 7, scoring just 17 points on 6/19 shooting and turning the ball over four times.
On the other hand, LeBron was an absolute beast, capping off a remarkable NBA Finals run with a 27 point, 11 assists, 11 rebounds triple double, including three blocks- one of which came against Steph, again.
Following the Warriors loss, Rihanna was there to throw salt in the Curry family's wounds.
Also, Savannah James better watch her mans.

J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League Claims Chance The Rapper Never Paid Them For Beats
"Ranting" on twitter Thursday afternoon, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League claims they never received payment from Chance The Rapper for their work.
It appears Flying Lotus’ comments yesterday about producer’s rights have inspired another production clique to speak up as well. Earlier today, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League took to their twitter accounts to voice their frustration at the music industry, even calling out famed independent rapper Chance The Rapper in the process.
Unclear of which of the three members actually tweeted it (Rook, Colione or Bart), J.U.S.T.I.C.E League went a “rant” Thursday afternoon calling out artists for not wanting to pay the right amount of fees & giving due credit, specifically Chance The Rapper. Then when producers, Nascent & Jake One responded to the tweet, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League made it clear that they’ve actually never been paid for their work by the Chicago rapper.
“Good to hear, we still waiting,” a response to Nascent read. “idk if u did or not. Hopefully lol. But I know on OUR end what happened,” the League wrote in another at Jake One (see below).
Adding to it all, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. later touched on the new streaming services, which they say doesn’t pay out royalties, as well as racism in the industry, calling out record labels for giving “white artists trips to Monaco, and black artist’s bottles of Hennessy and weed.”
French Montana & Drake Shoot “No Shopping” Video In Dominican Republic

Taking over La Romana in the D.R., French & Drizzy were caught posted up in the resort alongside OVO producer Noah “40” Shebib with several woman in the background. No word yet as for when the video or song will arrive, but the Coke Boy CEO did share a snippet of it a couple months back on his snapchat which you can see below.
Check out the pics & keep your eyes peeled for the single to arrive soon. Mac N Cheese 4 is available now for pre-order on iTunes.
Stephen Curry Gets Ejected In Game 6, Wife Says The Game Was Rigged For Money
Steph loses his cool in Game 6.
There will be a Game 7 of the NBA Finals Sunday night in Oakland.
LeBron James picked up right where he left off in Game 5, dominating the game from start to finish and leading the Cavs to a 115-103 Game 6 victory. LBJ had 41 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks- one of which came at the expense of the NBA's MVP.
Curry was plagued by foul trouble all night and when he finally picked up his sixth he blew a gasket, throwing his mouth guard into the crowd, drilling a fan in the face with it, and getting himself ejected from the game. That figures to cost him $25,000, although he did apologize to the fan before exiting the floor.
(And if that fan's smart he'll pick up that mouth guard and put that thing on the auction block.)
Curry's wife, Ayesha, was just as furious when her man fouled out and she also didn't hold back. Immediately after Steph was sent to the showers, Ayesha tweeted that the game was rigged for money, or ratings, and that she "won't be silent."
Of course, she would later delete the tweet but not before someone could screen grab it.
A lot of Curry's fouls were definitely suspect, and after the game Steve Kerr stood up for his guy, saying, "Yeah, I'm glad he threw his mouth piece, he should be upset." He also added, "You're going to call these ticky-tack fouls on the league MVP I don't agree with that." He will also be hearing from the league about that.
Again, Game 7, 9pm on ABC.

Drake & Kendrick Lamar's "Beef" Nearly Escalated To 50 Cent & Ja Rule Proportions, According To Marcellus Wiley
The former NFL player suggests an interview that would have increased tension between the two rappers was destroyed.
Ever since Drake was mentioned in Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse, there has been speculation of a tension between the two rappers. While Drake did seem to be a bit offended by the namedrop on Kendrick's record, the proposed bad blood between the two rappers has depended on the assumption of a number of "subliminal" disses and no concrete evidence. However, according to a new report from former NFL player and current ESPN host, Marcellus Wiley, the beef was very real, and came close to escalating exponentially due to an interview which was never aired.
“All I know is there was a beef, and all I know is I was witness to when the beef would have ignited to proportions we have not seen since Ja Rule/50, maybe even Ice Cube/N.W.A," the host said on an episode of his ESPN podcast, not specifying which side the alleged diss came from. "Like it went there. But that was destroyed from everyone’s property. That was destroyed, that interview, that moment was destroyed. That’s all I’m gonna say. But I was there and I heard the shots fired."
Wiley attests that what he heard came from only one of the two rappers, but he feels it would have been enough to inspire a full-fledged beef. "It was one-sided, and the other side was about to retaliate if that would’ve got out, but they destroyed the evidence. And I ain’t lying," he said.

Metta World Peace Is Allegedly Good Friends With The Guy Who Started The "Malice At The Palace
Say what?
On yesterday's taping of ESPN's "The Jump," Rachel Nichols welcomed two special guests who were both present for the infamous "Malice At The Palace."
Rasheed Wallace and Stephen Jackson, who are now friendly enough to sit next to each other without trading jabs, joined the show to talk about a number of topics, including that wild night in Detroit.
As it turns out, according to Captain Jack, Metta World Peace eventually patched things up with the dude who threw the cup which sparked the brawl, John Green.
In fact, Jackson said they keep in touch and "speak daily."
Nothing that Metta World Peace does should come as a shock to anyone but hearing that he frequently chats with the guy who incited the "Malice At The Palace" is some bizarro world stuff, even for Ron Ron.
Vince Staples Finances Long Beach Youth Arts Program
Vince Staples gives back to his community.
Vince Staples mentioned Long Beach's Ramona Park approximately 80 times on his debut album Summertime '06 and even allotted the park two of its own tracks: "Ramona Park Legend Pt. 1" and "Ramona Park Legend Pt. 2." "The sun come down and guns come out, you know Ramona Park."
Yesterday, Staples spoke at a press conference at Ramona Park to announce a new youth YMCA program called the Youth Institute, an initiative that combined the efforts of local officials and Staples financial support (he contributed an undisclosed amount). According to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, the program will help 20 eighth and ninth graders learn filmmaking, graphic design, music production, 3D printing, and product design.
“I want to be able to be one of the people that reinforces the fact that we matter just as much as the next person,” Staples told the Press-Telegram. “That’s actually the biggest thing I can do for this community.”
“I think the most important thing is opportunities,” he continued. “What I can say is, living over here my entire life, I’ve never had an opportunity given to me from the area, only examples of how to mess up, and what I didn’t want to do.”
He later expanded on these comments on Twitter before deleting the tweet: "Work hard to do something for kids so they have something other to do other kill each other this summer and y'all got Spike Lee jokes.. Lol."

Kanye West Updates “The Life Of Pablo” With The Addition Of “Saint Pablo”
Kanye West adds "Saint Pablo" to the tracklisting of "The Life Of Pablo."
Kanye West continues to alter & change the tracklisting for his latest album The Life Of Pablo. On Tuesday night, the Chicago legend decided to add his latest release, “Saint Pablo,” as the outro on The Life Of Pablo, making the album complete with 20-songs at the moment.
The track, which is co-produced by Mike Dean and features vocals from Sampha, is based on the same sample from Jay Z’s “Where I’m From” from 1997. It was originally presumed that the song would see life on Kanye’s next album Turbo Grafx 16, but that's clearly not the case after 'Ye took down the album off streaming services for a couple hours Tuesday night and re-added the updated tracklist like it was nothing.
For what it’s worth, this updated tracklist just so happens to surface on the same day Kanye announced his nationwide tour in its support as well

Lil Wayne has officially been released from the hospital following one or more seizures he suffered on Monday. TMZ reports that Wayne checked out of the Omaha hospital that he was transported to yesterday, and has already left the city, planning to continue his tour this Saturday in Kansas City.
Weezy's private jet was forced to make two emergency landings yesterday. Original reports indicated that the rapper refused medical attention after he landed in Omaha following a seizure, before re-boarding his plane and taking off, landing a short time later after experiencing a second seizure. However, Wayne's rep's implied he only experienced one "minor" seizure.
At the present time, there has been no explanation as to why he may have experienced a seizure. The rapper has a history of these type of episodes, and has previously said that he suffers from epilepsy

Jim Jones Thinks Max B Could've Been As Successful As Drake
Despite their past beef, Jim Jones admits that Max B could've been as big as Drake had he not gotten locked-up.
In 2005, Jim Jones signed fellow Harlemite Max B to his ByrdGang record label. The deal would only last for about two years, and the two rappers had been clashing heads at the time of Max's ByrdGang departure in 2008. It became an official beef soon afterwards, especially as Max joined forces with Coke Boy French Montana, whom also had a disdain for Jones. The beef would proliferate until 2009, when Max was sent to prison, where he still remains today.
In a clip taken from a new interview with Rap Radar, Jones was asked if there is still any bad blood between him and Biggavelli, and he responded by saying that he's not the type to speak down upon an incarcerated man. "That's a chapter in my life that's been gone," he said. "I don't even think about it no more."
Jones went on to explain that he didn't have anything to do with Max's imprisonment. In fact, "I put a lot of money in that boy's pockets," he said. Whether or not he harbors any ill feelings toward the rapper known as The Wavy One, he clearly recognized his talent. Jones went as far to say that Max "had the chance to be big as Drake right now."
"A lot of these artists right now that are singing and being very melodic," said Jones. "A lot of that came from that boy's whole catalog." He also pointed out that Wiz Khalifa has been influenced by many elements of Max's wavy style; "Wiz Khalifa'll tell you right now that he studied his music word for word," said Jones. Max B is currently serving a 75-year sentence in a New Jersey prison.
